When our studio’s journey began back in 2000, the game industry was a very different world from what it is today. From TV games and some of the earliest mobile phones to PCs, consoles, and the cloud – throughout the years, we’ve built for every kind of screen. Today, we are a studio of great cross-platform ambitions – our latest example, Star Wars Outlaws on the new Nintendo Switch 2, coming out in just a week’s time – and we can’t wait to reveal more about our future projects.
Before then, let’s take a moment to hear from our Managing Director Celine Pasula on what the next chapter might hold for Ubisoft RedLynx – and from our employees on what this anniversary means for them.
25 years of games, creativity, and amazing people

Celine Pasula
“25 years is no little achievement!” Celine says.
“That’s a quarter of a century of games, creativity, and amazing people. It’s a true honor to keep creating memorable experiences in an industry that has grown into a global cultural phenomenon – one with deep roots here in Finland and immense potential for the future. We’re also in great company this year, with a couple other world-known Finnish game studios celebrating similar milestones of their own.”
“When I joined RedLynx in 2021, I was met with a team that carried 20 years of fearless creativity, technical brilliance, and a proudly unique spirit. Over the past four to five years that I’ve had the privilege of being the Managing Director here, we’ve evolved alongside a rapidly changing games industry, pushed boundaries between the traditionally separated PC/console and mobile development, and challenged others around us for collective leadership,” Celine says.
“And yet, we’ve never forgotten our past either.”

And 25 years certainly carries a lot of it. It’s close to impossible to talk RedLynx history without mentioning Trials – the series has played a pivotal role in shaping our studio’s identity and legacy. The physics-based motorcycle platformer became a globally recognized franchise, with players appreciating the perfect mix of precision, challenge, and creativity. Trials showcased technical and design expertise in the studio and also built a passionate community that continues to inspire us – fans regularly remind us how much they love playing Trials. The series remains a proud milestone in our journey, reflecting our commitment to crafting memorable experiences for players.

Finnish Museum of Games
The Trials legacy is also present at the Finnish Museum of Games in City of Tampere: in 2023, the studio donated a Trials motorbike and helmet to the museum’s collection, where they bring joy to fans and visitors alike. The Finnish Museum of Games’ exhibition tells the story of the Finnish game industry and introduces a hundred Finnish games, most of which can be played at the museum. The playable games include for example RedLynx’s legendary Moominpappa goes Fishing, released in 2001.
Today, as part of Ubisoft, we’re working closely with colleagues across the globe to deliver some of the company’s biggest and most beloved brands. In addition to the Trials series, our rich portfolio includes games like the action-packed South Park: Phone Destroyer, as well as other projects we have contributed to along the way here, such as The Division 2, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Mobile, and Scalar. At the moment, in addition to our unannounced projects and bringing Star Wars Outlaws to Nintendo Switch 2, we’re also working with Ubisoft’s proprietary engine Snowdrop.

Looking ahead
“Crafting unforgettable experiences across platforms has been in our DNA from the very start – from fan-favorites like Trials to world-known brands such as Star Wars – and we’ve never shied away from pushing creative and technical boundaries. This is something we’ll absolutely continue going forward,” Celine tells us.
“While the years ahead will surely bring new challenges and surprises, what matters most is that we embrace every opportunity, continue to listen to our players with a keen ear, and evolve with the same adaptability, creativity, and resilience that have brought us this far.”
Down memory lane
In our multidisciplinary team of experts, we have quite a few team members who have been a part of the RedLynx journey from the early days. We asked our teams to share their memories from along the way, whether they’re a “RedLynx veteran” or a newcomer, and to let us know what the studio’s 25th anniversary means for them. Here’s a few of them!
What does the studio’s 25-year anniversary mean to you?
“Seeing the studio turn 25 years is remarkable and I hope for many anniversaries to come – and seeing us always improving and moving forward.”

“This anniversary is a time to reflect on our history, and to hope for a bright future.”
