"'Can you handle the ultimate race?"' demands the track description, despite the fact that the Gigatrack appears just 3/4s of the way into Trials Evolution’s single player campaign, at most."

"The answer is a resounding: 'No, we absolutely cannot handle it.'"

Simon Parkin from Hookshot.INC, calls out his game industry friends in his article about the montrosity, and beauty, known as Gigatrack.

"Trials Evolution is a physics puzzler but its heart is one of pure black competition. As you race to the finish line, it baits you with your friends’ floating names of inching ahead of you, representing their ‘best run’. “Not good enough,” the game implies through its passive aggressive real-time leaderboard read-outs.

“'How embarrassing for you,' it whispers, as you iterate on your failings till you find a spot on the leaderboards that is socially-acceptable enough to allow you to move on to the next stage."

What do you have to say about Gigatrack? Seems our FaceBook page has a few responses. Here are some of the Highlights:

"I decided when I got Evo I wouldn't pass a track until I was confident that the run was probably good enough for Platinum. When I finally unlocked the Platinum medals, I realized I was missing three; Home Run, Icarus Factor, and Gigatrack..."

"Basically a replica of what would b the perfect day out on your bike... awesome track"

"I hate gigatrack :/"

"I love it! It stands out from all the other tracks to me, and it's nice to have something different this time around because there was no other tracks like this! Even if I had hated it, I love seeing something different. :)"

"Hated it when I finished with 0 faults, but a time of 7:02... Love it now that I platinumed it with a time around 6:49. Would love it as a supercross track!"

"It's relaxing compared to the normal super-technical extreme tracks I play."

It seems that GamingLives has caught the Trials Evolution bug, transforming their site into a full-on Trials shrine. From a website re-skin, written and video reviews, and even a Trials Evolution give-away contest, they have shown just how BIG Trials Evolution is in the world of gaming.

What else? Oh yeah! They have bestowed upon Trials Evolution the highly coveted Golden D-Pad Award! We here at RedLynx couldn't be happier. Well, maybe if we had punch and pie.

From the written review:

"Before I get into this properly, I’m going to go out on a limb; I wouldn’t normally make a statement of this type, but I’m going to stand by it completely – if you enjoyed Trials HD, you’ll likely love Trials Evolution! A bold statement, to be sure, but one that formed in my mind almost as soon as I set off on the first track of the game.

RedLynx have done a sterling job in creating the follow-up to one of my favourite games of the last few years, Trials HD, and they’ve done it in such a way that you know for sure it is a follow up, yet it retains and enhances all of the fun and skills that made HD such a joy to play."

So what are you waiting for? Head on over the GamingLives, check out their review, watch the YouTube video, be in awe of the site graphics and tell them (and us, we have a thread about it!) how much you love it!
